These specially developed runners with integrated ball bearings can be mounted on your skateboard instead of your wheels.
The sledding hill around the corner can already be converted into a winter skate park.

Description

These snow skids for skateboards are our own development. The long, snowy and therefore skate-free winter months in the Allgäu region have taken their toll on us. The following idea arose from this hardship: Remove skateboard wheels and instead mount runners with integrated ball bearings on the same surfskate truck system. The sledding hill around the corner can already be converted into a winter skate park.

The idea was simple, but as with every invention, there were a few initial difficulties.
On the one hand, such skids were not available for purchase. So we had to use our own 3D printer to develop some prototypes. After a few iterations, we were satisfied with the shape and found that it works really well on small hills with relatively hard snow.

But not only on small hills, also on flat tracks we have fun as passionate wingfoilers with our wings and the snowskates during winter.

Usage information

WARNING: Skating with snowskate skids can be dangerous.
Use only at your own risk.
- Not a toy: Not suitable for children under 20kg and/or 14 years. Max. Weight 100kg / 220lbs
- Improper use may result in injury.
- NO changes may be made that would compromise safety
- Use the following protective equipment: Hand/wrist protection, knee protection, head protection and elbow protection.
- Your board must be checked before each use to ensure that the steering is set correctly and that all connecting parts are firmly in place.

By taking the following safety precautions you will have the most fun and minimise the risk of hurting yourself and others.
- Use a leash. We recommend connecting your skateboard to your body with a leash. Otherwise, if you are not careful, your skateboard may slide down the hill uncontrollably and endanger other people.
- Make sure that the top surface of your skateboard offers enough grip, even if it is covered with snow.
- Don't skate down hills that are too steep and don't go too fast. We recommend that you approach slowly and bit by bit. Only go as fast as you feel safe. These skates are not designed to go down the hill at high speeds. Control your speed by using your skateboard axles and making controlled turns.
- For braking, we recommend that you take a very tight turn.
- The skids are not designed for jumping. We have not yet managed to damage skids by jumping. Nevertheless, we do not recommend jumping with them. That is not what we designed them for. Depending on the skateboard deck and axle used, it can also happen that a skid turns 180 degrees during a jump and therefore no longer lands on the running surface.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and your fellow human beings. Skate responsibly.
- Do not skate alone. It is always good to have a second person with you in case something unexpected happens.
