Why choosing KARA is a good idea

Unique and handmade with love

Every single board is unique and mainly handmade in a small workshop in Bavaria/Germany. This means that almost all manufacturing processes, from laminating and pressing to sanding and varnishing, are done by hand. It feels like each board has its own soul.

Ecologic

KARA surfskates and balanceboards are made exclusively from natural wood materials. No adhesives or materials such as epoxy, glass and carbon fibres or foams are used.

KARA Foilboards are made from a naturally growing agave core and, unlike foam boards, are not only more durable but also much more sustainable, as the core is completely biodegradable.

Lightweight

KARA boards use a unique wooden layup. After a lot of tests we decided to use a FCS certified paulownia wood core, as known from wooden surfboards. It is enclosed by outer maple or birch veneers and the extremely beautiful decorative natural wood veneers of your choice. Nothing beats the beauty of mother nature.

The agave core of KARA Foilboards is very light and is also hollowed out in important areas such as the nose and tail. Due to the natural fibres of agave, the foil boards are much more stable than foam boards.
